So in an unbelievable heroic act, he gives up his own future to ensure that his friends are able to live theirs. Before this, however, he repeats a line from 2011's Thor as one of the Easter eggs in the Loki season 2 finale, albeit in a quieter and calmer way. "I know what kind of God I need to be. For you. For all of us," he says as his parting words to Mobius and Sylvie.
