Nick Fury’s wife is Priscilla Fury, a Skrull who has been living on Earth since the events of Captain Marvel. Priscilla Fury is played by Charlayne Woodard in Secret Invasion. Whereas Secret Invasion’s premier ended with Maria Hill’s death, Secret Invasion episode 2’s ending twist was that Nick Fury is married to a Skrull. Priscilla appeared in her Skrull form during the Secret Invasion episode 2 flashbacks focused on a young Gravik. She is the one who introduced Gravik to Fury, noting that the Skrull child had lost his parents. Presumably, Priscilla and Gravik had a strong bond, adding to the Secret Invasion villain’s character arc.The fact that Nick Fury has a wife was first brought up in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, although it was not clear whether Fury was telling the truth. On that occasion, Fury appeared at Steve Rogers’ house, already aware that SHIELD had been compromised. Fury said that he was there because his wife had kicked him out, leading Steve to say “Didn’t know you were married.” Nick Fury’s wife would be referenced again in a Captain America: Civil War tie-in comic book. How Long Has Nick Fury Been Married?
The Secret Invasion episode 2 flashbacks take place shortly after the events of Captain Marvel, which was set in 1995 and saw Fury teaming up with Carol Danvers to help the Skrulls refugees. Secret Invasion episode 2 explored the idea that Nick Fury and Captain Marvel promised to find a new home for the Skrulls, whose original planet had been lost during the war with the Kree Empire. Priscilla was one of the leaders of the Skrulls who went to Earth with Talos and helped Fury form a “Skrull unity” that would help the planet in secret missions. Interestingly, Priscilla already had a diamond engagement ring in this flashback.Therefore, Nick Fury got married between Captain Marvel’s ending and the Secret Invasion episode 2 flashback. In other words, Nick Fury has been married for 30 years. It is unclear whether Priscilla continued to work for SHIELD and other organizations such as SWORD or SABER during those 30 years. However, considering that Gravik is resentful of Fury for not keeping his promise of finding the Skrulls a new home, it will be interesting to see how Priscilla is dealing with this Skrull insurrection. Priscilla helped recruit Gravik for Nick Fury’s operation, after all.
Nick Fury's Wife Explains 4 MCU Things
Nick Fury’s wife in Secret Invasion episode 2 changes several MCU moments. Firstly, Nick Fury, the man whose secrets have secrets, kept the identity of his wife a secret from other MCU characters for the entirety of this universe. Secondly, Fury’s “my wife kicked me out” line in The Winter Soldier was not just a joke used by the director of SHIELD to explain why he was hiding in Steve Rogers’ home – Fury indeed has a wife. In addition, Nick Fury helped hide Hawkeye’s family, as revealed in Avengers: Age of Ultron. This makes even more sense after Secret Invasion episode 2’s ending.
